Towards the end of any game of League of Legends, teams will begin to destroy the opposition’s inhibitors, which is almost essential in securing a win. The purpose of the inhibitors is to prevent the opposing team from sending off super-minions down each lane, which are then much tougher to kill. Here we’ll look at their place in the game, how they’re used, and the many various different prop bets surrounding them.
Each team has a total of three inhibitors on their side at any one time, and they’re some of the last structures found before arriving at the Nexus. Comprised of 4000 health they’re difficult to destroy, although they don’t fire projectiles like the turrets do, so they can be taken down quickly once reached. The players must push through a series of turrets first though if they hope to have a chance of taking one down, plus there’s a further couple of turrets shooting at players from beside the enemy Nexus. It’s instrumental that they are destroyed though, as once the super-minions start pushing down each lane then a victory is on the horizon, but they do respawn.
What does this mean when it comes to betting on them in any map, or match, and how can you get the most from them? Not to worry, as we’ll now break this down here, looking at what you can do to further your chances when putting down money on an inhibitor based prop.

What is LoL Map Inhibitors?
An inhibitor essentially ‘inhibits’ super-minions from coming down that particular lane they’re placed at the end of guarding. Located in each base, they stop the opposing team from actively applying a lot of pressure down each lane for a set period of time. This means that there’s a race to destroy the opposing team’s inhibitors, allowing those that do so to push their forces forward to the enemy Nexus.
With three inhibitors for each team on the Summoner’s Rift map, and two on the Twisted Treeline, you’ll mainly be concerned with the Rift terrain. Here’s a general look at them, and how they effectively run over the course of each League of Legends match:
- Attributes: All inhibitors have 4000 health, running at 15 health per second regeneration, and 20 armor, with no magic resistance.
- Respawn Times: Each inhibitor respawns five minutes after being destroyed, and this is ongoing throughout each and every game.
- Super-Minions: Typically replacing the siege minions in each minion wave, these are extremely strong minions, and when all a team’s inhibitors are destroyed there’ll be two in each wave.
Those that get the final blow on an inhibitor will also receive fifty gold, thus increasing the incentive even further. How do you spot these players and teams though, and what should you look for when putting down money on an inhibitor based prop bet?
Common LoL Map Inhibitors Questions:
What sort of props will I find with the inhibitors?:There’s a variety of props and different combinations to be found when it comes to betting on the inhibitors in League of Legends. To begin with you’ll find the ‘First Inhibitor’, which will involve you predicting the first team to have their inhibitor destroyed. Then you’ll have the option of betting upon how many inhibitors will be destroyed over the course of a match, with this number being indefinite. Betting on the over/under of this final tally, you can also wager whether it’ll be higher or lower than the pre-stated count given by the sportsbook itself.
What should I be looking for when making an inhibitor based bet?:
Taking down the inhibitors is always a question of strategy, and the tactics that are being employed by each team playing. Many teams will have their own preferred approach, such as whether or not a player is using ranged attacks, or up close physical hits. Ranged strikes can make it easier for champions to hit the inhibitor from a distance, using a tactic that’s called ‘backdooring’. This involves players essentially ‘sneaking’ behind enemy lines into their base, and taking out vital structures, including the inhibitors.
How to Bet LoL Map Inhibitors:
Firstly you want to head on over to the ‘Sports’ section from the navigation bar at the top of the landing page, followed by ‘Esports’ on the next. This will then bring up the drop-down menu ‘All Esports’, along with ‘League of Legends’ listed there, which is what you’ll want. There’s then all of the events and, picking the one you want, you’ll have all the matches available, then the props will be listed when selecting one, and featuring under ‘Other Props’ when available.
Bet365 Sportsbook:
Moving down the left side of the page to ‘Esports’, go ahead and choose the ‘LOL’ event you want to bet on, it being listed near the top alphabetically. Under the ‘Lines’ subsection will be ‘Map – Inhibitors’ for whichever number of map, taking you through to all the inhibitor based props. Now you can choose which teams will destroy the ‘First Inhibitor’, as well deciding upon the over/under of the final tally for each team.
LoL Map Inhibitors Betting Strategy:
Taking note of the tactics used and the approach to the game by the different teams is the best place to start. Some may opt for a more aggressive approach, meaning more inhibitors are going to be destroyed, whilst others may take a more defensive stance biding their time. Watching older games can help, giving you some idea how things will proceed over the course of each individual map.
Spreading your bets out, you should be able to find a decent balance, making the most of the various odds offered, whilst combining them with the larger bets. Paying attention to the champions in play is important too, and you should then be able to place a series of bets on the inhibitors with far more precision.
