Where To Bet PGA Top 20 Finish

Graeme

Golf is a unique sport to bet as there are multiple contenders, but only one winner. When you bet golf you aren’t betting one team against another, you’re betting one golfer against the field. Of course, there are ways around this.

You can bet top-5, you can bet top-10, and you can even bet top-20. It is obviously easier to pick as winner when going for the top twenty, but it still isn’t easy. This article is going to focus a bit more on how to bet on golfers to finish in the top twenty. The odds are lower on the golfers, but it is still a great market to bet as you have something to root for all weekend long.

If you’re interested in betting a golfer to finish in the top-20, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading to find out where to bet them, how to bet them, and my strategy for picking winners.

Where To Bet PGA Top 20 Finish:

America: The best place for Americans to bet on PGA top 20 finishes is BetOnline. They offer a wide variety of odds on every PGA event and have you covered with top-5, top-10, and top-20 winners.

Everywhere Else: Bet365 Sportsbook is a sportsbook with betting odds on PGA events. One thing I like about this one is that the top-5, top-10, and top-20 are all on the same page so you can easily compare and contrast them.

What is PGA Top 20 Finish betting?

A PGA Top 20 Finish is a bet on whether or not a specific golfer will finish in the top twenty of the tournament standings. Where they finish doesn’t matter. They could finish first or twentieth. As long as they finish in that range, you win.

Of course, this bet is different than a top-5 or top-10 bet. While a top-5 finish might have odds at +1000, for a top-20 it would only be around +230. The odds are much lower because you have a higher probability of winning this bet. More winners, lower odds. That’s the trade-off you make when betting this instead of one of the harder to win bets.

Common PGA Top 20 Finish Questions:

Are ties allowed?

The answer to this question depends on which sportsbook you use.

Some sportsbooks allow ties while others use something called the “dead heat rule” which reduces the amount of the payoff by how many players are tied. Part of your bet would be considered a win while the other part would be considered a loss. This means that if your golfer is tied for 20th with other golfers, the win pays less than the same bet on someone who finished 19th.

How to Bet PGA Top 20 Finish:

BetOnline: Once you enter the sportsbook, click “Golf” on the left hand side. This will display a list of options below it, including “Top 20”. Click on that to display all the upcoming top-20 betting odds.

Bet365 Sportsbook: Click on “Golf” from the left hand menu of the website. Find the upcoming tournament that you are looking for and find that on the menu. There will be a section that says “Tournament” and just below that will be “Top Finishes”. Click on that and you will find the top-5, top-10, and top-20 finish betting odds.

PGA Top 20 Finish Betting Strategy:

The key stat to look at here is cuts made. You can look at how many events a golfer has played in and how many cuts they’ve made. While that doesn’t guarantee a win, it certainly helps a lot and improves your odds quite a bit.

Another key thing that I look at when betting on a golfer to finish in the top-20 is their course history. It’s relatively easy to find with a simple Google search and you can see how they’ve done here. If an otherwise quality golfer missed the cut at a course last year, I am not going to bet on them to win at that course this year.
