Where To Bet NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14

Graeme

Wrestle Kingdom is the event name for the Tokyo Dome show that New Japan put on every January. It is their biggest annual event – basically their Wrestlemania. It’s been going on for many years, however since 2007 has been called “Wrestle Kingdom”.

Wrestle Kingdom 14 takes place over two days in January with cards on January 4th and 5th. It’s going to be an absolutely massive show and is completely stacked. Well worth staying up for trust me. This is going to be the first time that the event will be held over two days.

It’s always a massive card with some incredible wrestling and I’m delighted to announce that we are also able to bet on New Japan Wrestle Kingdom.

That’s something new that a select few online sportsbooks are offering – the ability to bet on NJPW events. Usually they just allow WWE and now AEW, but we’re seeing more and more sportsbooks expand beyond that with New Japan Pro Wrestling betting.

Let’s cover where to bet NJPW Wrestle Kingdom:

America: So here’s the bad news – as of right now Americans can’t bet NJPW. No online sportsbook offers it. Your best chance is petitioning online sportsbooks that accept Americans and offer pro wrestling. The two most popular ones for that are 5Dimes Sportsbook and BetOnline.

Everywhere Else: You can bet New Japan Pro Wrestling, including Wrestle Kingdom, at 888. They offer match betting as well as various prop bets. They are the premiere wrestling sportsbook as they also offer AEW odds. Oh and that other company too.

The most common bet of course is who will win a match. As of December 2019, you can currently bet on five different matches taking place at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14 and you can bet those. They are:

  • Jay White vs Tetsuya Naito
  • Kazuchika Okada vs Kota Ibushi
  • Will Ospreay vs Hiromu Takahashi
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Chris Jericho
  • IWGP Heavyweight Championship

For each match you can also bet the over/under star rating that Dave Meltzer will give it. That’s the only prop bet at the moment other than the IWPG Heavyweight Championship, which has a few different props available.

Check if there are any more bets or props since I last checked by by visiting 888.

How to Bet NJPW Wrestle Kingdom online

888:: They have a search bar at the top of the site. You can simply type in “NJPW” there and be brought directly to the odds or use the “All Sports” link and click “WWE/Pro Wrestling”. Then click on any match to see the odds. Click the odds you want and a betting slip will pop up at the bottom where you can put in the amount you wish to bet.

NJPW Betting Strategy:

NJPW is always quite good in that there aren’t a lot of “obvious” bets and you can get ones with very close odds. Ibushi is 1.80 and Okada is 1.90 for example. Personally I use the Wrestling Observer newsletter to give me a good idea. Dave always has such valuable insight.

I would also suggest using that for star ratings. Get an idea of who Dave likes etc. For him it can often be about favouritsm etc – it’s not an exact science. If you know going in he is going to be enjoying a match more, there’s a good chance it will end up being a higher rating and so on.
