Where To Bet New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) Online

Graeme

The internet has opened up the world and things that were once exclusive to a place are now worldwide. They are now accessible by everyone and that benefits us all. One company that has benefited from this is New Japan Pro Wrestling. Long considered to be the best professional wrestling company in the world, the improvements of the internet have led to them becoming a truly international company thanks to their New Japan World streaming service and AXS TV deal in the United States.

Now, wrestling fans can easily access these Japanese shows and their non-Japanese fanbase grows every year. They’ve grown so big that they have become something that you can bet on.

This is great news for wrestling fans and this article is going to tell you how you can bet on them yourself as well as tips and strategies for how to bet on New Japan Pro Wrestling. Let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NJPW :

Americans: While no current odds are listed for NJPW, BetOnline does offer WWE and AEW betting.

Everyone Else: 888: As of this writing, this is the go-to spot for betting on New Japan Pro Wrestling. They cover the big events like Wrestle Kingdom and the G1 Climax. As they have more success, hopefully they add more sites.

Where To Make Specific NJPW Bets:

NJPW G1 Climax: One of the best wrestling events of the year. The NJPW G1 Climax is an annual event in a multiple night tournament setting. There are so many bets to be made on this from match bets to props to futures and I cover all of that as I tell you the best online sportsbooks to bet the NJPW G1 Climax at.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom: In this article I talk about NJPW Wrestle Kingdom, which is the equivalent to Wrestlemania for the WWE. I talk about the best places to bet it as well as offer up strategies to consider going into betting NJPW Wrestle Kingdom.

What is NJPW Betting?

Wrestling Deposit Bonuses
New Japan Pro Wrestling is a wrestling league that offers matches at a variety of events. Thanks to sportsbooks, you can now bet on them.

Typical big events will see odds on the winner of the match as well as the star rating from professional wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer.

Meltzer rates matches on a 1-6 star scale and betting odds will be set on expected great matches with an over/under/even line set at the specific star rating. For example, a Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kota Ibushi match recently had this line.

Over 4.75 Stars (+167)
Exactly 4.75 Stars (+210)
Under 4.75 Stars (-177)

We have a full article on betting on Dave Meltzer’s Star Ratings.

You can also bet on “markets” so the G1 Climax tournament, a yearly round-robin tournament, allows you bet on the winner of the tournament, the A Block or the B Block.

Common NJPW Betting Questions:

Can you bet NJPW Props?

Yes. For example, during the G1 Climax tournament all matches will have a time limit and a draw is not unlikely. Each match will also have a line set on the match ending in a draw. Here is an example of a 2019 G1 Climax match:

Will Ospreay +175
KENTA -250
Draw +250

Where can I bet NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14?

You can bet NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14 at 888. I’ve also written a detailed article on NJPW Wrestle Kingdom betting. They offer betting odds for 5 matches as of this writing including Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Chris Jericho and the IWPG Heavyweight Championship match. They offer prop bets for the matches with the Wrestling Observer star rating where you can bet on that. For the IWGP Heavyweight championship match, you can even bet on what the matchup will be ie: Kota Obushi vs Tetsuya Naito or Jay White vs Kazuchika Okada.

What are the NJPW Wrestling Kingdom 14 Odds?

As of December 16th, 2019 the odds in decimal format are:

  • Testuya Naito 1.25 vs Jay White 3.50
  • Kota Ibushi 1.80 vs Kazuchika Okada 1.90
  • Hiromu Takahashi 1.34 vs Will Osprey 3.00
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi 1.75 vs Chris Jericho 1.95
  • IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Tetsuya Naito 1.80 vs Kazuchika Okada 3.15 vs Kota Ibushi 3.15 vs Jay White 7.00

All of those also have prop bets where you can bet on the star ratings.

How To Bet New Japan Pro Wrestling:

888:: It is always easy to find the professional wrestling betting odds when you use the search bar at the top. Simply type in “Wrestling” and you will find a list of all of the upcoming events including NJPW, AEW, and WWE.

NJPW Betting Strategy:

When it comes to the G1 Climax, my best strategy to tell you is telling you what not to bet. The G1 Climax is the annual round-robin tournament where every match has a 30-minute time limit. Odds are offered on a draw, but they are typically around +200 to +250. That is terrible odds.

In 2017, there was ONE draw. In 2018, there was ONE draw. That’s over three hundred matches right there and that is two draws. +200 is terrible odds for something that is that rare. Don’t bet it.

Get yourself a subscription to the Wrestling Observer as well. Dave Meltzer knows NJPW better than pretty much anyone and if you are going to be betting, it’s good to get his insights. Plus his star ratings can be a good idea for betting as there can be easy money to be made there at times. Obviously a lot depends on the match but you can get an idea of what he is going to rate something based on the participants as it’s just natural – there are certain people he likes better than others and will be more forgiving etc.
