During the course of any professional League of Legends match the kill count will be constantly stacking up, with numerous champions on both teams being killed. This is the case for every game, or ‘map’, and there’s a number of different props and betting options for this particular feature of the game. Here we’ll go over this in greater detail, looking at how you can effectively make the most of any wagers you put down, getting more out of your money in the long-run.

Killing champions from each team is an integral part of the LoL gaming experience, as the players effectively face off against one another. From the first kill of the game, to the overall final tally of each player, it’s an essential driving force to League as a professional eSport. Gaining momentum over the course of a game, many players will start to find themselves gaining more and more kills as the match progresses. This often comes down to various different playing styles, as well as the skill levels of each player, with many notable eSports stars to watch out for.

Where do you start though, and what should you look for when determining who will gain what when racking up kills across each LoL map? We’ve got you covered here, as we’ll break it all down in finer detail, giving you everything you need to know when placing the ultimate bet.

What is LoL Map Kills?

Prior to taking down the enemy Nexus and winning the game, players will use their champions to push forwards through enemy lines. This will mean competing against opposing champions, which is where much of the gameplay for League of Legends comes in. Taking down enemies in a match, or ‘map’, will accrue points and rewards, allowing the player to progressively get stronger and faster.

The kill count of each player’s champion over the course of any map is noteworthy for a whole number of reasons. Here’s what a kill looks like for the champion that scores the killing blow, and everything that it is generally involved:

  • Rewards: Gold and a buff is awarded to the champion who makes the kill, along with gold being awarded to the rest of the team too.
  • Execution: These can also be done when killed by a monster, turret, or minions, and sometimes it’s better for a champion to be executed by these rather than awarding an opposing player.
  • Multi-Kill: When a player gains momentum with their champion, they’ll find themselves receiving multiple-kill bonuses, including Double, Triple, Quadra, Penta, and Hexa.

When an assist takes place bounties are also awarded for those players that help out with the kill of an enemy champion. Who should you look to, though, when putting down money, and which players are going to come out on top, and which are going to fall by the wayside?

What props are typically featured here?:

Usually these bets concern themselves with which teams and players get the most kills during the course of a League match. Provided with an over/under as well, you can also decide upon whether the final kill count will be lower or higher than what’s been set by the sportsbook. There will also be odds given for the team that will score the first kill of the game, allowing you to place wagers side-by-side. With the option of creating any number of different betting combinations, you have a whole range of choices open to you.

What’s should I look for when making a LoL map kills based prop?:

A lot of this will come down to the players themselves and how they handle their champions during the game. There will be players such as the Jungler whose job it is to cover the jungle based regions between lanes, so you’ll probably want to focus on someone playing in the lanes. That being said, the Jungler can manage some interesting surprise attacks, as they essentially ‘pounce’ on the enemy from the sidelines. Watch older games and see who has a better handle on their characters, watching what the previous kill counts are and how aggressively they play.

How to Bet LoL Map Kills:

Bovada:

Start by choosing ‘Sports’ from the navigation bar on top of the landing page, and then you want ‘Esports’, which will give you the ‘All Esports’ roll-down menu. Here choose ‘League of Legends’ and then the event you want, followed by all the upcoming games down the page. If available, the props concerning map kills will be under ‘Other Props’ further down the page after opening up the game you want to bet on.

Bet365 Sportsbook:

First select ‘Esports’ down the left side of the page, and the ‘LOL’ events will be listed alphabetically near the top. Opening up the ‘Lines’ section under the event you want, you’ll there find ‘Map – Kills’ for the number of the map you’re betting on. Selecting it, you then have all the kill based props for that map, along with the over/under options and the projected odds, allowing you to place your bet.

LoL Map Kills Betting Strategy:

A lot of this will largely come down to the skill of the players involved at the end of it all, so it’s key that you pay attention to who is playing. Keep an eye on the line-up, making sure you’re constantly up-to-date on which players are playing what positions, as this can make all the difference. Viewing older games will definitely help you, seeing who manages to get consecutive chains of kills on a continual basis.

Checking the odds provided and comparing them to what you’ve seen is obviously important, but sometimes it’s also the lesser known players that can surprise with some higher numbers than usual. Once you have a clearer idea of what everyone can offer, you should then be able to make a far more informed bet.
