What Craps Games / Variations Are There?
Crapless Craps: Craps without losing? That sounds pretty nice, eh? Unfortunately, that’s not exactly what this is. The big difference here is that there is no don’t pass bet in this game and the rules for the pass bet are different as 11 is no longer a sure winner. This really shifts the odds quite a bit as the house edge is about five times higher.
High Point Craps: The big difference here is that a if 2 or 3 are rolled on the come out roll, they are ignored, and if you roll 11 or 12 you immediately win. The other big difference is that once you have to set a point, instead of hitting that number you have to roll a higher number to win.

How do you play craps?
A round of craps starts with a come-out roll. It is the first roll of the dice of the round and the person who throws the dice is called the shooter.
The shooter throws two dice on the craps table, or if playing online, by clicking the “roll” button on the screen.
Once the dice is rolled, there are then three possible outcomes.

If the shooter rolls a 7 or a 11, you win and get to roll the dice again. This is the best outcome.

The shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. The dealer then “marks your Point” (the number rolled) on the table. The shooter then rolls the dice again and hope to hit the same number as before. If the shooter hits their Point (the number rolled), you win.
What craps bets are there?
Pass Line: This is a bet on the shooter to win (or pass) by rolling a natural or by winning the point. This is a bet you can only make before the point has been established.
Don’t Pass Line: A bet against the shooter rolling a natural or hitting their mark. A lot of people in live casinos do not like it when you do this because you are betting against the person who is rolling. Craps is a social game in a live casino so it is a bit of a faux pas. This is a bet you can only make before the point has been established.
Come: This is a bet after the point has been a determined. You are betting on if a natural is rolled and against craps.
Don’t Come: This is similar to the Don’t Pass where you are betting against the shooter to hit their point. This is a bet after the point has been a determined.
Prop bets: You can also bet on specific numbers for big payouts. A bet on two 2s would pay 7-to-1, two 4s pays 9-to-1, and two 6s pays 30-to-1. The table will have all the odds for the multiple number combinations including hard ways.

Field Bets: This is a bet on a variety of numbers, a bet on 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12 is a win. A 5, 6, 7, or 8 is a loss.
Big 6 and Big 8 Bets: A bet that a 6 or 8 will be rolled before a 7.
How many people run a craps table?
There are four dealers that work a craps table at a live casino.
The Stickman is the one with the stick. They are in charge of the proposition bets at the table and take losing bets off the table if they lose. They also tell the standing dealers when to pay players off for winning a proposition bet.
The Boxman is the only person seated at the craps table. They count the money and give the chips to standing dealers to give to the winners.
There are also two standing dealers. They handle the players and exchange chips for cash.
Can you play Street Craps online?
No. Street craps is named as it is played on the street – or basically not in a casino. It’s a much simpler version of craps but I have not seen anywhere where you can play it on the internet.
What happens if your first throw is a 7 or 11?
This is called a natural, and assuming you bet the “pass line” then you are a winner.
Craps Betting Strategy:
The key for winning long term at craps is not to get too crazy. Betting on individual numbers or proposition bets have a high payout, but that’s because it is simply not likely that they are going to come in.
If you are looking to simply make money, you should stick with betting on the Pass Line or Don’t Pass Line. The house edge is low on these bets, 1.41% for the Pass Line and 1.36% for the Don’t Pass Line.
An easy way to bet, and have fun at the table, is to just bet the Pass Line and then do two Come bets. This way you are rooting for the shooter, always more fun, and minimizing your risks.
