Where To Bet NBA Team To Win Each Quarter

The NBA game is so interesting from one quarter to the next. It is very rare that the things that work in the first quarter will work in the fourth quarter and vice versa. The flow of a game from quarter to quarter is always an adventure and makes an NBA game worth watching til the end.

Betting on teams to win the each quarter is a unique way of betting. While you can’t bet on a team to win every quarter like you can in the NFL, you can still bet on each individual quarter. Sportsbooks offer betting lines on each quarter of the game and the odds on them are always very reasonable.

In this article I am going to get a bit more into the betting market for NBA Team To Win Each Quarter. I will get into the best sportsbooks to make these bets, how to bet them, and much more. Keep reading to start betting on NBA quarters.

Where To Bet NBA Team To Win Each Quarter:

America: BetOnline is a sportsbook that has many great NBA promotions and contests. They have a large selection of NBA props and quarter betting opportunities.

Canada: The sportsbook at Sports Interaction has plenty of betting options for every NBA game of the season. They offer moneylines on NBA quarters.

Everywhere Else: Bet365 Sportsbook is a sportsbook with many NBA options. They have a variety of betting options related to NBA quarter betting.

What is NBA Team To Win Each Quarter?

You can bet on the moneyline for every quarter of the game. The way that it works is basically as a three-way bet. You can bet on one team, the other team, or a tie.

For example, let’s take a look at a game between the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. In this game, the Knicks are a slight favorite at -1.

First Quarter Moneyline: Atlanta (-105) / Tie (+1100) / New York (-118)

Ties happen, but they are pretty rare just because of how scoring works in the NBA so that is the big underdog here. The Knicks winning is a very small favorite to win because they are a small favorite to the win the game outright. While the Hawks are almost at even money.

These lines are available for all four quarters of the game at most sportsbooks.

Other quarter related bets include:

– Quarter Spread
– Quarter Totals
– Quarter Moneyline
– Quarter Race to 20
– Quarter Team Totals

Common NBA Team To Win Each Quarter Questions:

What is the NBA record for the most points in the first quarter?

The record for points in the first quarter was 50 points for a long time. Five teams had done it, the Nuggets making up for three of those five, but that record was eventually broken in 2019 when the Golden State Warriors scored 51 in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets.

Golden State did this by shooting an insane fifty-four percent from three-point land. Their big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant combined for 89 points and 18-of-28 shooting from three-point land. It should go without saying, but the Warriors pretty handily won the first quarter moneyline in this game.

This record should stand for some time, but you never know with the amount of three-point shooting and talented three-point shooters in the league right now.

How to Bet NBA Team To Win Each Quarter:

BetOnline: Click on basketball on the left hand side of the page. Then click NBA and you will see all of the day’s games. Click on the game you are thinking of and click on it to see all of the available betting options, including quarter bets.

Sports Interaction: When you are on the main page of the sportsbook, click Basketball on the left hand side and then NBA. From there you will be displayed a list of games. Click on the game you are looking to bet and you will see a list of all of the available props. The quarter moneylines will be listed within.

Bet365 Sportsbook: The easiest way to find these is by heading to the basketball section. NBA will be listed here and below it you can find a wide variety of props. The quarter props will be found in this area. You can also bet quarter bets while a game is in-play.

NBA Team To Win Each Quarter Betting Strategy:

A lot of people might tell you to take a look at the first quarter, but that’s my personal preference. The first quarter is when you are going to see the starting units of both teams, the best against the best. That makes the first quarter a lot more even than other quarters of the game might end up being.

I personally look at the second quarters and then study the bench units of each team. There are many teams in basketball that play better when these second units are in and others that simply can’t put it together. That is the time when I think this bet is most winnable. Do your homework on stats sites and choose wisely.

Where To Bet the NBA Draft

The NBA Draft is a key part of the NBA schedule and one of the most exciting times for NBA fans. Not only do you get to find out who the next potential star is going to be for your team, the event often sees a ton of trade action as well. It’s a big night of the NBA season and always a ton of fun.

The best thing about the NBA Draft is that you can also bet on it. You can bet on everything from individual picks to player draft position over/unders. It’s a fun event to bet on as you can really get into the mock drafts and plan out your strategy ahead of time.

This article will tell you all about betting on the NBA Draft including the best place to bet on it, explanations of different bet types, and much more. Let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NBA Draft:

America: The best place in the U.S. to bet on the NBA Draft is Bovada. They offer a wide variety of betting options with competitive odds.

Canada: All Canadians should head over to Bodog if they are looking to bet on the NBA Draft as there is a large variety of betting options for this event.

Everywhere Else: Bet365 Sportsbook is a sportsbook that offers many betting options, including NBA Draft odds.

What is NBA Draft betting?

There are multiple ways to bet on the NBA Draft.

1st Overall Pick: There are odds placed on every player eligible for the draft and you are betting on which one will be selected #1 overall. The odds are weighted so the more likely the player to drafted high, the lower the payoff. A favorite could be as high as -5000.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Overall Pick: Odds will also be placed on players for the 2nd through 5th overall pick. Odds become more favorable for players after the #1 overall pick depending on the talent available.

Exact Draft Order – Top 3 Picks: This is an “exact” play where you are betting on the order for the top-3 draft picks. You will need to correctly pick the order in order to win this bet. Two out of three is a loss.

Exact Draft Order – Top 4 Picks: Same as above, but for the top four picks. The odds are even more favorable on this one as it is much harder to pick correctly.

Players from non-NCAA teams drafted in Top 10: This is a bet on the amount of players who did not attend an NCAA school in the past year. This primarily means the amount of foreign-born players picked in the top ten. It will be set as an over/under. For 2021, the odds were over 2.5. So three or more players drafted in top-ten that didn’t go to an NCAA school would’ve been a win.

Draft in Top 10: Odds on individual players on if they will be drafted in the top-10 of the draft. If a player has projection than the odds will be very expensive, like -10000, but other players will be between -300 and +1000. A potential great value betting opportunity.

Player Draft Position: These are odds set on an individual player with an over/under on their draft position. The odds are set by a player’s draft projection and then an over/under is set. For example, a mid-tier player might have an over/under of 18.5 in the draft. If he is drafted #18 or earlier, that is a win. #19 or lower would be a loss.

First to be drafted: A head-to-head bet between two similar players. You can bet which one of them will be drafted first. Your bet wins if the player is drafted before the other.

In addition to all of these, there will often be numerous prop bets that you can bet for the NBA Draft including:

  • Total Trades in Round 1 – Over/Under on the amount of picks traded in the first round
  • Who will #1 pick hug first? – Odds on Mom, Dad, Girlfriend, Sibling, or Friend
  • Will #1 pick cry? – Yes/No
  • Number of players from specific college (Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, etc) taken in Round 1 – Over/Under
  • Number of players from specific NCAA conference (Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, etc) taken in Round 1 – Over/Under

Common NBA Draft Questions:

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

Are there big upsets at the NBA Draft?

Typically, the top-two picks are pretty well known ahead of time, but after that things can get pretty crazy.

A great example would be the 2020 NBA Draft when the top-three picks were well known, but the #4 pick was more wide open. There were multiple players with shorter odds, but the Bulls selected Patrick Williams with the fourth pick. If you had bet on Williams before the event he would’ve paid off at a whopping +3000 odds!

How to Bet NBA Draft:

Bovada: Click the “Basketball” link on the header of the sportsbook page. That will take you to a list of the current odds. There will be a pulldown menu that reads “Game Lines”. Click that and select “Futures” to see all of the NBA Draft odds.

Bodog: Head to the basketball section of the sportsbook. From there select “Futures” from the pulldown menu to see the current NBA Draft odds.

Bet365 Sportsbook: Select “Basketball” from the left hand menu. The page will have an area for “Markets” and “Futures”, click “Futures” to see NBA Draft odds.

NBA Draft Betting Strategy:

If you want to make money on this event, you have to bet the lower picks. The #1 pick and #2 pick are usually set in stone so there is no need to try and get cute and bet an underdog. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th pick are the spots to bet on an individual player.

The other best place to bet is Player Draft Position over/unders. If you study enough mock draft and projections, you can usually find a great value in here.

Where To Bet NBA Player vs Player Points

In this article I’ll be talking about where to bet NBA Player vs Player to Score the Most Points, which you can bet online.

The NBA is a superstar driven league and the battle between the superstars is often the most exciting part of any given playoff game. Match-ups like Giannis Antetokounmpo versus LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard versus James Harden are why we watched this league and it’s always fun to see how they play against each other.

Basketball is a team game, but the NBA is definitely a superstar league. The story, at the end of the day, will always be about how these superstars played against each other and what one might’ve done better in order to get the win on that night.

A big part of that is scoring and, while one player may play better overall, these players are often judged on who scores the most points. This then becomes a good thing to bet on: who will score the most points between two superstars.

This is a fun prop bet that more and more sportsbooks are adding that allows you to bet on an individual match-up between two of the game’s best players. It’s a lot of fun.

We are going to get into the NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points prop bet in this article. We’re going to tell you all you need to know about it including how to bet, where to bet, and our own strategy for betting on it.

Where To Bet NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points:

America: One of the top NBA sportsbooks in the world is Bovada and they offer the Player vs. Player scoring betting prop on most of the big games of the day.

If you’re an NBA fan, this is a great place to bet as they offer a wide range of props for every game including Player Steals, team props, futures, and more.

Canada: Sports Interaction is one of the better places to bet the NBA online and they offer player props on select games.

They have competitive odds on every game and there are a ton of props that you can bet as well. A great place for fans of the NBA to bet.

Everywhere Else: The prop selection at 888 is one of the best in the business and they have you covered when it comes to Player vs. Player scoring props.

They also offer a large selection of game props on each game throughout the season.

What is the NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points prop?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

This is a simple bet where the sportsbook takes players for a game and you bet on which player will finish with more points scored in the game.

An example would be if the Milwaukee Bucks played the Washington Wizards.

The sportsbook might set a prop for this one that pitted Giannis Antetokounmpo against Bradley Beal.

You would then pick which one of those you think would score more points and bet on them. If that player ends up finishing with a higher point total, you win.

Common NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points Questions:

What are some of the greatest player versus player scoring games?

Dec 8, 1961 – Philadelphia Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers: This was a wild game with two players over 60 points. Wilt Chamberlain scored 78 points with 43 rebounds while Elgin Baylor finished with 63 points and 32 rebounds. Jerry West also posted a 32–11–10 line.

Feb 25, 1962 – Philadelphia Warriors vs. New York Knicks: Richie Guerin had the second ever 50 point triple-double here with 50–11–13. However, Wilt Chamberlain scored 67 points here and finished with 21 rebounds.

December 14, 1962 – San Francisco Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Another war between Chamberlain and Baylor. Wilt had 63 points while Baylor finished with 51.

December 6, 2000 – Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers: This overtime win by the Lakers saw Kobe Bryant score 51 while Antwan Jamison of the Warriors also scored 51.

How to Bet NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points:

888: Search “NBA” from the search bar and find the list of games. Click on the game that you are interested in and that will list all the props for that day’s games which should include NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points.

Bovada: Click “Basketball” from the list of sports and from there you’ll see a list of that day’s NBA games. Click the “+” with a number next to the game and scroll to find the NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points props.

Sports Interaction: From the lefthand menu on the screen, click “Basketball” and then “NBA Props”.

NBA Player vs Player To Score Most Points Betting Strategy:

There are a lot of variables that go into betting this, but two of the most important thing to look at are who will be guarding each player and the injury situation for each team. For instance, if Giannis Antetokounmpo is being guarded by Joel Embiid – that’s going to be a problem for him. At the same time, if Khris Middleton is out for the Bucks – that might put a bigger scoring burden on Giannis.

Where To Bet NBA Biggest Point Lead

One of the most fun things about the NBA is when a team goes on a run. It can be especially fun when it’s a great team that is favored by big points that is down and then they just flip the switch and make a huge comeback and take a commanding lead. For a few moments, the team feels unstoppable and it can be breathtaking to see.

These types of runs are what defines the league and they are at the heart of the NBA Biggest Point Lead prop bet. These types of bets can be a lot of fun as you’ll often see a team favored by big points that fails to cover because their lead gets so big that they decide to rest the starters late and the other team makes a comeback. This is a way to bet against that outcome and really just bet on one team being great.

In this article, we are going to talk a little bit more about the NBA Biggest Point Lead betting pro including where to bet them, how to bet them, and more.

Where To Bet NBA Biggest Point Lead:

America: Bovada is one of the best NBA sportsbooks on the web and they have you covered when it comes to NBA Biggest Point Lead betting. They also offer a wide variety of other betting props including Player Steals, team props, and more.

Canada: Canadians are always raving about Sports Interaction and for good reason. They have some of the best NBA betting options and offer a ton of props on each game during the NBA regular season and playoffs.

Everywhere Else: One of the top sportsbooks on the web is 888 and they offer a ton of betting props for the NBA and every other sport as well.

What is NBA Biggest Point Lead bet?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

Betting on the biggest lead in an NBA games is not a bet on the final margin of victory, but the biggest lead at any point of the game.

So a team might go on a huge run in the third quarter and get a 20+ point lead and then rest their stars in the fourth quarter because the game is out of hand. The other team might make a comeback, but that won’t matter as long as they hit the number that you bet on for biggest lead in the game.

This can be presented in a couple of different ways. The main one, and most popular, is a total that is set that you have to guess it will be over or under that amount. Here’s what that might looks like:

Sacramento Kings vs. Charlotte Hornets: Largest lead in game O/U 17.5

In this scenario, you could bet over or under. Over means that at some point in the game one of those teams will have an eighteen point or more lead. An under bet would mean that no team will ever lead by more than seventeen points.

The other way to bet this would see a list of numbers that could bet on. For example:

Sacramento Kings vs. Charlotte Hornets
15.5 (-140)
16.5 (-120)
17.5 (-100)
18.5 (+120)
20.5 (+150)

Each number here has a moneyline tied to it. This is how much of your bet amount would pay off to you. So a $100 bet on a -100 line would pay $100. A $100 bet on a -120 line would pay around $83. A $100 bet on a +150 would pay $150. You are paying a premium based on how likely the sportsbook thinks that it is likely to happen.

Common NBA Biggest Point Lead Questions:

What is the largest margin of victory in an NBA game?

There are big blowouts in the NBA all the time, but then there is these ones. Blowouts so huge that a team should be embarrassed to even have shown up. I’m talking about the games where one team won by sixty or more points.

There have been six games in NBA history where one team won by 60 or more points.

Mar 22, 2018 – 61 points: Charlotte Hornets 140 Memphis Grizzlies 79
Dec 26, 1960 – 62 points: Syracuse Nationals 162 New York Knicks 100
Nov 2, 1991 – 62 points: Golden State Warriors 136 Sacramento Kings 91
Mar 19, 1972 – 63 points: Los Angeles Lakers 162 Golden State Warriors 99
Feb 27, 1998 – 65 points: Indiana Pacers 124 Portland Trail Blazers 59
Dec 17, 1991 – 68 points: Cleveland Cavaliers 149 Miami Heat 80

That 1998 game by the Blazers may be the most embarrassing of them all. The Blazers highest scoring quarter on this day was only 16 points. Isaiah Rider had an especially bad game for Portland, shooting just 5-for-15 and having a -35 plus/minus.

How to Bet NBA Biggest Point Lead:

888: Search “NBA” from the search bar and find the list of games. Click on the game that you are interested in and scroll to find the complete list of game props including the biggest point lead.

Bovada: Click “Basketball” from the list of sports and from there you’ll see a list of that day’s NBA games. Click the “+” with a number next to the game and you will be taken to a page with all of the additional betting options for the game including the biggest point lead.

Sports Interaction: From the lefthand menu on the screen, click “Basketball” and then “NBA Props” and you can find different props including biggest point lead betting options for that day’s games.

NBA Biggest Point Lead Betting Strategy:

This is one of those bets that you shouldn’t mess with in a game with a low spread. This is the type of bet that you should focus on games where a team is favored by 10+ points and then double that for the bet. So many times during the NBA season we see a heavily favored team get a huge lead early and then give it away because they know they have the game in control. I like to use this bet as a way to back a heavy favorite and sort of hedge against the inevitable bench comeback that happens late.

Where To Bet NBA Player Rebounds

Rebounds are a key part of the NBA with many players making their name off of them. Guys like Dennis Rodman had two jobs when they played basketball: play defense and grab rebounds, and he was the best at it. His rebounding was a big part of his championship wins in both Detroit and Chicago. It’s a key part of the game and players work hard to grab as many boards to pat their box score.

Players rebounds from game to game are relatively static. Teams have hierarchies when it comes to boards so from game-to-game you might see the players rebounds fall in the same range. This makes it a good prop to bet on in basketball.

While the rebounds are typically around the same level, that aren’t always the same which make them a fun over/under to bet on.

In this article we are going to get a bit more in-depth on everything player rebounds. What sportsbooks let you bet on them, how to bet on them, and where to bet on them. Betting on player props like rebounds are a lot of fun so let’s get into how you can start doing this right now.

Where To Bet NBA Player Rebounds:

America: One of the top sportsbooks for betting on the NBA for Americans is Bovada. They offer a wide variety of props on every game of the NBA season including betting on Player Rebounds.

Canada: Sports Interaction is a great site for betting on the NBA. While they don’t offer Player Rebounds on every game, they do offer Player Points as well as Points/Rebounds/Assists.

Everywhere Else: The best place to bet on NBA Player Rebounds is 888. They offer these odds on every game and put odds on multiple players for each game as well. They don’t do just power forwards and centers, players you would expect to get a lot of rebounds, but they put odds on guards as well. They offer many betting options for every game of the NBA season and playoffs.

What are NBA Player Rebounds bets?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

The NBA Player Rebounds prop bets are an over/under total that is set on the amount of rebounds that a player will grab in a game.

For a player like Anthony Davis who averages 9.5 rebounds per game, he might have his over/under set at 9.5 rebounds. If he finishes with 9 rebounds, that would be an under. If he finishes with 10 or more, that would be an over.

Common NBA Player Rebounds Questions:

What is the record for most rebounds in a single NBA game?

Like many records in the NBA, this one is held by Wilt Chamberlain. The big man from the Philadelphia Warriors finished with 55 rebounds in a game against the Boston Celtics in 1960.

How to Bet NBA Player Rebounds:

888: Search “NBA” from the search bar and find the list of games. Click on the game that you are interested in and scroll to Player Rebounds.

Bovada: Click “Basketball” from the list of sports and from there you’ll see a list of that day’s NBA games. Click the “+” with a number next to the game and it will take you to a full list of props associated with the game including Player Rebounds.

Sports Interaction: From the lefthand menu on the screen, click “Basketball” and then “NBA Props” and you can find different props there for that day’s games.

NBA Player Rebounds Betting Strategy:

The key thing to look for when betting Player Rebounds is match-up and minutes. Who are they playing against that is going to be going for the same rebounds as them.

The other thing to look at is minutes. How many minutes are they going to play? If it’s a game with a high spread that could mean a blow-out and in that case they might not play enough minutes to grab their normal amount of rebounds.

Where To Bet NBA Player Steals

Steals are a key part of NBA defenses and can instantly lead to easy buckets. It’s easy to think of some famous steals in NBA history as even thinking about a steal brings back memories of Larry Bird against the Pistons and the famous “there’s a steal by Bird!” call. That play and that call will forever be seared in my head.

Gary Payton was known as The Glove when I was first becoming an NBA fan and I wish I could’ve bet on his steal numbers during his heyday, but I was too young at the time. He averaged nearly two steals per game during his career and in the 1995-96 season he lead the league at 2.9 steals per game.

Steals are one of the hardest stats in the NBA to put your finger on. Some players are better at them than others, but to see big steal numbers in game after game simply doesn’t happen in the NBA. Players are too good at protecting the ball. That said, they do happen and some players are better at them than others. It is definitely something that you can bet on during an NBA game.

In this article, we’re going to talk a bit more about NBA Player Steals. How to bet them, where to bet, and more. Let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NBA Player Steals:

America: Bovada offers betting on every game during the NBA season and can often put player props on games as well. The rule of thumb here seems to be the bigger the game, the better the betting options. They do offer Alternate Lines, Quarter and Half lines, and much more for every game of the season.

Canada: Canada’s top sportsbook is Sports Interaction and they offer a lot of props throughout the regular season. They don’t always offer Player Steals, but they do offer Player Points and Triple Double betting options.

Everywhere Else: The best place to bet NBA props online is 888. They offer NBA Player Steals, NBA Player Rebounds, Quarter and Half Totals, and much more. They have everything you could possibly want to bet in the NBA and they post odds on every game.

What is NBA Player Steals betting?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

A NBA Player Steals betting prop is an over/under set on the number of steals that a player will finish the game with.

For instance, a game with Russell Westbrook might see him have a total of 2.5 steals. You could then bet over meaning you think he will have three or more steals. Or under, meaning you think he will have two or less.

The number on this is set based on the player’s reputation and their average steals per game stats. Someone like Westbrook has a reputation of being very aggressive in going for steals so he is a player that you would see with betting odds on him often.

However, someone who is not known for steals would be unlikely to see betting odds. Why? It’s not really worth anyone’s time because no one is interested on betting on people to get steals when they don’t normally get steals!

Common NBA Player Steals Questions:

What is the record for most steals in a single NBA game?

The record for steals in an NBA game is 11 and it is held by two people. Larry Kenon did it for the Spurs in 1976 and then it was done again by Kendall Gill of the Nets in 1999 in a game against the Miami Heat.

There are many players tied for second with 10 steals in a game. Most notably, Michael Jordan did it in 1988 against the New Jersey Nets when he had 10 steals in only 27 minutes. That is the least amount of minutes for someone with 10+ by a large margin.

Allen Iverson is the only person to record nine or more in a playoff game when he had 10 in 1999 against the Magic. That was Iverson’s first ever playoff series. He also finished with 33 points that game to go with the ten steals, five rebounds, and five assists.

How to Bet NBA Player Steals:

888: Search “NBA” from the search bar and find the list of games. Click on the game that you are interested in and scroll to Player Steals.

Bovada: Click “Basketball” from the list of sports and from there you’ll see a list of that day’s NBA games. Click the “+” with a number next to the game and it will take you to a full list of props associated with that game.

Sports Interaction: From the lefthand menu on the screen, click “Basketball” and then “NBA Props” and you can find different props there for that day’s games.

NBA Player Steals Betting Strategy:

The key here is looking at the match-up. You can bet on someone like Russell Westbrook to get a lot of steals if his match-up calls for it. He is the type of player that I like to target when I am betting on this. In all honesty, going for steals can often lead to an embarrassing play on defense if you don’t get it. You need a player who is aggressive and willing to go for it, but also someone who believes in themselves enough not to get embarrassed. That’s Westbrook to a T.

For instance, in 2019 Trae Young was one of the worst players in the NBA at allowing turnovers. That might be a good chance to be the over. While he won’t guard that player 100% of the time, he will for the majority of the game and you want it to be someone known for coughing it up. Even team stats can work in helping to figure this out.

Where To Bet the NBA Winning Margin

Picking winners in NBA is one thing, but beating the spread is a whole other thing. How many times have you taken the favorite and they fail to cover the spread by half of a point? I know I have one too many times.

One good alternative to this is betting the winning margin. In these bets you pick a team to win by a set margin, usually a three-point window. The odds on this are fantastic, but hitting can be difficult.

This article is going to explain about more about these types of bets. Where to bet NBA Winning Margin, how to bet them, and my strategy for winning them. Let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NBA Winning Margin:

America: NBA Winning Margins and many other props are available at Bovada.

Canada: Sports Interaction is a great site for betting on the NBA and they offer both First Half Winning Margin and full game Winning Margin bets.

Everywhere Else: Bet365 Sportsbook has a great selection of NBA bets and tons of Winning Margin bets including 3-Way, 7-Way, and 12-Way Winning Margin bets.

At all books you will have the option of choosing a wide variety of winning margin bets.

What are NBA Winning Margin bets?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses

NBA winning margin bets are when you bet that a team will win by a pre-selected range. For example, here is how the line might look for a Pacers/76ers game:

Pacers By 1-2 Points +1100
76ers By 1-2 Points +1000
Pacers By 3-6 Points +650
76ers By 3-6 Points +500
Pacers By 7-9 Points +1200
76ers By 7-9 Points +700
Pacers By 10-13 Points +1400
76ers By 10-13 Points +600
Pacers By 14-16 Points +2500
76ers By 14-16 Points +1000
Pacers By 17-20 Points +2500
76ers By 17-20 Points +1000
Pacers By 21+ Points +1700
76ers By 21+ Points +700

In this game, the Pacers are the underdog so the odds are slightly better for them. The difficulty of these bets are on display here as the odds are all really good with the lowest odds being 5/1.

The way these work is if you were to bet Pacers By 10-13 Points +1400 and the Pacers won by 10-13, you win. If they win by 9 (or less) or 14 (or more), you lose.

Common NBA Winning Margin Questions:

What is the averagine margin of victory in the NBA?

From 2010 to early 2019, the average margin of victory is 11 points according to research at Redband Sports. In each of those seasons, the average margin has fallen between a low of 10.6 points and a full-season high of 11.3 points.

How to Bet NBA Winning Margin:

Bovada: From the main sportsbook, click the “Basketball” link at the top of the page. From there find the game that you want to bet on and click the game. You will get a full list of the game’s prop bets including the Winning Margin.

Sports Interaction: On the left side of the page, find “NBA Games” under Basketball. Click on that and then find the game you are interested in. Click the game to expand the betting props and in there you will find both First Half Winning Margin and Winning Margin.

Bet365 Sportsbook: From the main page, click “Basketball” on the left side. All of the options will be displayed and you can click “Winning Margin” to see all of the Winning Margin odds for that day’s games.

NBA Winning Margin Betting Strategy:

You can find the average scoring margin for every team during the season online. You can take a look at those for each team, the home court advantage, and the spread to make your decision.

When I like a big favorite, one of my favorite things to do is take the posted spread and add +3 (or +6) to the winning margin. This will have better odds than the winning margin falling within the point spread.

Where To Bet NBA Team Totals

Tell me if this has ever happened to you: you bet an over on an NBA game because you really believe in one of the two offenses. Say, the Warriors pre-2019. You know they are putting up 120+ and the total is set at just 220. This feels like a slam dunk and you are counting your money as you place your bet. Only the other team doesn’t do their job and you lose the bet even though the thing you thought would happen, happens.

This has happened to me one too many time which is why I have started to bet NBA Team Totals more often. NBA Team Totals are an over/under number set on a specific team and are a fun bet to place.

In this article, I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about NBA Team Totals. From how to bet them to where to bet them to my strategy, let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NBA Team Totals:

America: One of the best sites for NBA props is Bovada and they post NBA Team Totals on every game.

Canada: Look no further than Sports Interaction for NBA Team Totals and many other prop bets including the Race to 20 Points.

Everywhere Else: 888 offers a wide selection of props on every NBA game. Things like Alternative Spread, Double Result, and, of course, NBA Team Totals are all available here.

What are NBA Team Totals?

Basketball Deposit Bonuses
Betting on NBA Team Totals is simply betting an over/under for one particular team. For instance, let’s say there is a game between the Pistons and Cavaliers with a total 214.5. The Pistons are favored by -2.5 points in this game.

In this scenario, the NBA Team Totals would look like this:

Detroit Pistons: 108.5 (over/under)
Cleveland Cavaliers: 106 (over/under)

You would then bet on the over or the under just like any other total bet.

Common NBA Team Totals Questions:

What is the highest scoring NBA team of all-time?

Even with the amazing scoring explosion that we have seen over the past couple of seasons, no modern team can hold a candle to the 1982 Denver Nuggets. This team averaged an NBA record 126.5 per game and shot an amazing .520 from the field. They also shot .268 from three which makes this all the more impressive.

Denver also allowed 126 points per game if you were wondering why you don’t remember any championship banners being raised that season.

What is the best defense of all-time?

This is a pretty subjective thing as the league has changed so much over the years. There have been times when 85 points per game allowed was considered the norm and then there is today when teams have a great defense that allows 110+ points per game. It’s all subjective in a way.

However, one team really stuck out while doing my research: the 2003-2004 Detroit Pistons. This team played amazing defense all season, allowing just 84.3 points per game. Detroit had a run of five straight games during the season where they kept their opponents under 70 points.

They then went on to the playoffs where they set an NBA postseason record for blocks with 19 in game two of the Eastern Conference Finals.

How to Bet NBA Team Totals:

Bovada: Click “Basketball” up top and find the game you are looking for. Click the game and you will see all of the props. Find the “Period/Alternate Lines” section and look for “Total Points O/U” with a team name beside it. That’s your NBA Team Total for this one.

Sports Interaction: Click on “NBA Games” on the left side and then click the game you want. Scroll down to find “Team Total” which is just what it sounds like.

888: Search to get to the “NBA/Basketball” page. Click on the game you are interested and you will find a section titled “Handicap & Totals”. Here you will find an option called “Total Points by Home Team – Including Overtime” or “Total Points by Away Team – Including Overtime”. This will be the NBA Team Total for the game.

NBA Team Totals Betting Strategy:

My personal rule for betting NBA Team Totals is to only bet a team’s over when you think that they can win. If someone is a ten-point underdog, I stay away from their Team Total. The idea is that when it rains it pours for offenses in this league and when things are going well, the shots go in more. It’s just science.

However, I do also like to monitor injuries when betting this one. Teams can really lose a lot without a key player. The starting point guard is a big one as I’ve seen the very best offenses in the NBA crumble without their lead facilitator. There are a lot of factors that come into play when betting on a team total and injuries should be right there at the top of your list.

One of the other things that I focus on is recent schedule. The key thing to look for here is if a team is playing their third game in four nights and the second half of a back-to-back. This has been proven time and time again to be a rough game for that team and can often see them run out of steam late. Is that worth an under? Check the total and find out!

Where To Bet NBA Alternative Game Totals

The NBA is one of the best leagues to bet over/unders on. With the advancement of the three-point shot over the past several seasons and more athletic players than ever, we are seeing the scoring go up and up. It’s a ton of fun to bet the totals as the scoring continues to rise.

A typical over/under or game total is set and then the odds are stagnant at -110 whether you bet over or under. For some, this is enough. For others, we want a little bit better action. This is where alternate game totals come in. If a game is set at 220 total points and you like the over, you can get much better odds if you bet over 225.

This article is going to explain a bit more about how to bet these alternate game totals, but first let’s get into the best places to bet them.

Where To Bet NBA Alternative Game Totals:

America: There is always a huge selection of alternative game totals at Bovada. They typically have lines plus or minus another six points.

Canada: Bodog offer a ton of alternative game totals for each NBA game.

Everywhere Else: One of the best sites for betting these is 888. They offer them on every NBA game of the night.

What are NBA Alternative Game Totals?

An NBA Alternative Game Total is a prop bet where the total on the game is set at a different number with much different odds.

The best example of this would be a game with a total set at 220.

If you bet over or under on a total of 220, the bet is going to be -110 odds. With an alternative point spread, you would get odds that look something like this:

Over 214: -200
Under 214: +150

Over 226: +145
Under 226: -190

These can be great when you think a line is really off in one direction or the other. You can get much better odds on a total.

Those would be the extremes of that line, but you could also bet something like this:

Over 218: -160
Under 218: +120

Over 222: +105
Under 222: -135

This can be a great betting option for when you think a line is a bit too high or too low.

The line is typically set within six points either direction of the regular game total.

Common NBA Alternative Game Totals Questions:

How much has scoring risen over the years?

The 2011-2012 NBA season wasn’t all that long ago, but in the grand scheme of the NBA it feels like a million years ago. That season saw teams averaging a low 96.3 points per game. This was the lowest season per game average since 2003-2004. Ever since that season, the point totals have continued to rise.

The per game shot up to 102.7 in 2015-16 and then jumped again to 105.6 in 2016-17 and then jumped all the way to 111.2 in 2018-19. As players get better at shooting threes and teams realize just how important shooting threes is, there really doesn’t seem to be a limit on just how high this number can get.

How to Bet NBA Alternative Game Totals:

Bovada/Bodog: Head to the basketball section and find the game you are looking to bet on. There will be a game listing with the spread and game total, and then a number with more odds. Click that and you can find alternative point spreads.

888: After searching “Basketball” and getting the list of games, just click on the list of games to expand the betting options. There will be a tab that says “Handicap & Totals”, scroll to “Total Points” and click “show list view” to show all of the alternative point spread options.

NBA Alternative Game Totals Betting Strategy:

One good way to find potentially strong over bets is to look at team’s three point shooting percentages and then the team they are facings three point shooting percentage allowed. If you get two great shooting teams with so-so defenses than that is really a great opportunity for teams to blow away the posted game total.

Where To Bet NBA Race to 20 Points

The sheer amount of betting options for an NBA game is staggering. There are so many options that sometimes you are just looking for a bet that you can settle early. Sometimes we don’t have 2-3 hours to watch a full game, sometimes we just want to make a quick bet and get out.

A great bet for this is the Race to 20 Points/First Team to Reach 20 Points. This is a simple bet that is exactly like it sounds and is a ton of fun to bet on. Every shot matters early in the game and you are really on the edge of your seat with every point scored in that first quarter.

This post is going to tell you a bit more about the Race to 20 Points including how to bet them and our strategy for picking winners, but first let’s figure out where to bet them.

Where To Bet NBA Race to 20 Points:

America: Bovada offers one of the widest selections of NBA game props of any website out there. They offer First team to reach 20 points and much more for every game on the schedule, every day of the season.

Canada: A great site for Canadians is Sports Interaction which offers a wide variety of betting prop options for each game of the season.

Everywhere Else: 888 is one of the best betting sites in the world and they offer a great selection of betting props for every NBA game.

What is NBA Race to 20 Points?

This bet is just like it sounds like as you are betting on the team that reaches 20 points first in the game. What happens after that doesn’t matter, it’s only about the first twenty points scored in the game.

The line is typically based on the point spread for the game so if one team is favored over the other, they might be -120 or more to score 20 first. While the underdog in the game will also be the underdog in the first to 20.

Common NBA Race to 20 Points Questions:

What teams typically start hot?

A great way to break down a bet like this is to dig deep into the stats. For instance, you can find 1st quarter points per game as well as 1st quarter points allowed per game. The leading teams will be found there.

These lines are typically set off of the point spread, so a favorite in the game will be favored in the odds, but you can find value when you find an exceptional first quarter team.

How to Bet NBA Race to 20 Points:

Bovada: From the list of that day’s games, click the game odds with the number beside it. This will pull up a list of alternate lines and other game props. Under the game props section you will find “The First to reach 20 points”.

Sports Interaction: Click the “NBA Games” from the left hand sidebar of the page. From there you will get a list of the day’s games. Click on the game you like and you will find a list of props including Race to 20 points.

888: Go to the list of the day’s NBA games and find the game you are looking for. Clicking on the match-up will bring up a list of related betting options for the game and under “Match Events” you will find the first to 10 points, 20 points, and even 50 points.

NBA Race to 20 Points Betting Strategy:

A good way to bet this one is by finding first quarter overachievers who are also underdogs in the game. They may not win the game, but young teams and athletic teams will typically start the game hot before settling as things become more defensively oriented. That makes them a solid play in the first quarter to get to twenty first.
